MJJ foundation is seeking to contribute to the establishment of competitive salaries for Lithuanian PhD graduates from foreign universities who would like to continue their academic careers in Lithuania and share their knowledge with Lithuanian students.
“After spending more than six years in prestigious foreign research institutions, I decided that I can realize my scientific ideas in Lithuania in the same way and to contribute to the successful growth and promotion of science in my country. I believe that working in your own country can provide much more meaning, inspiration and self-realization. MJJ foundation provided financial support, and that made this decision so much easier,” said postdoctoral researcher Kasparas Rakštys from The University of Queensland in Australia. He came back to KTU faculty of chemical technology, the group of Dr. Vytautas Getautis, to continue research in the field of organic photoconductors for the new generation of solar elements.
For the winners of last year competition – seven researchers coming from Japan, Australia, USA and UK – the foundation dedicated EUR 220 900.
The Foundation this year will also provide a monthly reward in addition to the university’s salary for a period of up to three years. It is dedicated to researchers who wish to come from abroad and who will be selected by an independent experts and university representatives.
