The MJJ Foundation provides support to the Teachers Lead Tech

The Marius Jakulis Jason Foundation provides support to the project “Vedliai” (Teachers Lead Tech). “We invest in people, knowledge, education, science. It is education that is the foundation of our future, and the “Vedliai” is a concrete tool for teachers, providing an opportunity to educate children – a new generation of Lithuanian innovators. That is why we think that the project is very important”, says the head of the foundation, Kotryna Stankutė-Jaščemskienė.

Monika Katkutė, the founder of the “Vedliai“ project, firmly believes that every Lithuanian child, regardless of place of residence, abilities or family’s financial situation, should have the opportunity to learn technological creativity and programming from the first grade. She says that this is the only way we will raise a young generation important for global Lithuania.

To achieve this goal, the private educational project “Vedliai” (Teachers Lead Tech) was established, with an answer: first of all, to provide technological skills to Lithuanian primary school teachers, who would automatically integrate the practices of technological creativity in the educational process. “By training one teacher, we immediately give at least 20 children the opportunity to consistently develop technological skills,” says Monika.
In order to accelerate this process, the members of the Unicorns LT association, which unites the country’s successful startups, have already collected EUR 100,000 by inviting other participants in the technology ecosystem and philanthropists to join. Responding to the call, the MJJ Foundation donated EUR 30,000 to the support of the project contributing to the change in education.

“We are happy that we can combine resources with the Unicorns LT community. At the same time, we hope that this project will become a national priority and its continued financing will be ensured by state funds. After all, this project takes care of our teachers and children, who will create the future of an innovative, economically strong Lithuania”, says the head of the foundation, Kotryna Stankutė-Jaščemskienė.
During the 3 years of operation, the foundation has already allocated EUR 1 million to the directions of Science, Knowledge and Business.
