The prize established for the MJJ Foundation’s “Cancel Cancer” hackathon—a trip to Cambridge University—will provide the hackathon winners with a unique opportunity: to meet with scientists engaged in cancer research, gain knowledge, and receive advice and ideas for further project development.
Greta Mistinaitė, this year’s recipient of the foundation’s Knowledge Scholarship (Žinių stipendija), who is currently studying in the “Bioscience Enterprise” master’s program at Cambridge University, helped organize this prize. We thank her for her contribution!
The foundation became partners of the “Cancel Cancer” hackathon because this initiative is a platform that connects scientific ideas with a business mindset. “And this connection is an important foundation for the success of Lithuania’s economy,” says Kotryna Stankutė-Jaščemskienė, Director of the MJJ Foundation.
“Cancel Cancer” (,,Atšaukti vėžį)—at the hackathon held in Vilnius, the grand prize was won by a startup that proposed an innovative HPV self-sampling test developed using CRISPR technology. This solution aims to solve complex diagnostic issues and encourage more active public participation in oncological disease prevention.
We are delighted that the growing MJJ Foundation community is fostering innovation and building stronger ties between Lithuania and the world.
